We look forward to welcoming you to the AAD Annual Meeting in Boston!
The first priority of the Academy is the safety of all those attending the Annual Meeting. We continue to follow all CDC guidelines related to COVID-19, as well as state, local, and facility guidelines and mandates.
Based on the recent change to the Boston city ordinance on vaccine requirements, the AAD will no longer require proof of vaccination to attend the AAD Annual Meeting.
As of Friday, February 18, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu lifted the requirement for proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for Boston businesses. The announcement was based on the fact that key measurements show the impact of coronavirus on the city is waning after an omicron-driven winter surge. The change means people can go to restaurants, bars, convention centers, and hotel meeting spaces without having to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Masks remain required in indoor public spaces in Boston. AAD will be distributing complimentary KN95 masks and hand sanitizer onsite at the Annual Meeting (while supplies last). The Boston Public Health Commission plans to review the indoor mask order, in consultation with the city’s Board of Health, in the coming days. Please refer to the AAD Annual Meeting website for updated information on the indoor mask requirement as it becomes available.
For those already registered for the AAD Annual Meeting, if you wish to cancel your registration based on this change in policy, you may do so without penalty by sending an email to registration@aad.org by Wednesday, March 2. Confirmed hotel reservations may also be cancelled without penalty by sending an email to registration@aad.org by Wednesday, March 2.
The AAD will continue to prioritize the health and safety of meeting attendees by following all CDC guidelines, as well as state, local, and facility mandates related to COVID-19.
See you in Boston!
